Services That Keep Your Equipment Operational
From emergency repairs to preventive maintenance, each service is designed around minimizing your downtime.
Equipment failure disrupts more than transactions. It affects customer experience, staff workflow, and your ability to track inventory and revenue accurately. Our services address both immediate problems and long-term reliability.
Standard Repair Service
This covers diagnosis and repair of common faults across all major cash register and POS system manufacturers. Our technicians arrive with diagnostic equipment that identifies problems within minutes, not hours.
Common repairs include thermal printer failures, barcode scanner issues, software errors causing system freezes, touchscreen calibration problems, and cash drawer mechanism faults.
Most standard repairs are completed on-site during the initial visit. Where replacement parts are needed, we stock common components including print heads, scanner units, and power supplies. Less common parts are typically available next working day through our supplier network.
After repair, you receive documentation detailing the fault found, work completed, and recommendations for preventing recurrence. This forms part of your equipment service history.
POS System Maintenance
Preventive maintenance reduces emergency repairs by identifying problems before they cause downtime. During a maintenance visit, our technician performs a comprehensive system check covering all components.
This includes cleaning mechanical parts where dust and debris accumulate, checking electrical connections for signs of wear or corrosion, testing all input devices and outputs, verifying software is current, and reviewing system logs for error patterns that indicate developing faults.
The technician will identify components approaching end of life. A thermal printer showing early signs of print quality degradation. A card reader with intermittent connectivity. A power supply delivering voltage outside optimal range. These findings allow you to schedule replacement during off-peak hours rather than dealing with unexpected failure during trading.
Maintenance visits typically last sixty to ninety minutes depending on system complexity. You receive a detailed report covering system status, work completed, and recommendations with priority levels for any issues found.
Emergency Callout Service
When equipment fails during trading hours, waiting is not an option. Our emergency callout service provides same-day priority response with technician dispatch within two hours of your call.
This service is designed for critical failures where your business cannot continue trading without functional equipment. Complete system crashes, card payment failures when cash is not an option, or printer faults preventing receipt generation.
The emergency callout fee covers priority response and initial diagnosis. Repair work and any required parts are charged separately at standard rates. For businesses with annual service contracts, emergency callouts are included without additional charge.
Our technicians carry equipment to handle most common emergency scenarios without requiring return visits for parts. When specialist components are needed, we source next-available delivery and return to complete the repair.
Annual Service Contract
For businesses operating essential equipment, annual contracts provide comprehensive coverage combining preventive maintenance with priority emergency support.
The contract includes four scheduled maintenance visits throughout the year, typically quarterly. These visits follow our standard maintenance protocol with detailed system checks, cleaning, and component assessment.
Between scheduled visits, you receive priority response for any equipment problems. This includes unlimited emergency callouts without additional charge. All repair work is discounted by twenty percent, and replacement parts are provided at our cost price without markup.
Clients on annual contracts experience significantly reduced downtime compared to reactive repair approaches. The quarterly maintenance catches developing problems early, while priority emergency response minimizes disruption when unexpected failures occur.
Contract pricing is based on single POS system coverage. For businesses operating multiple tills, we offer scaled pricing with additional discounts for three or more systems under contract.
Software Updates & Integration
POS systems require periodic software updates to maintain security, add features, and ensure compatibility with payment processing standards. We handle manufacturer updates, configuration changes, and integration with external systems.
This service covers installation of manufacturer firmware and software updates, integration with accounting platforms for automated transaction export, configuration of new payment methods including contactless and mobile payments, and adjustment of tax rates and pricing structures.
Software work is typically scheduled during off-peak hours to minimize disruption. We test all changes thoroughly before returning your system to operation, and provide documentation covering updates applied and any configuration changes made.
For businesses requiring regular software adjustments due to changing product lines, seasonal pricing, or frequent promotions, we can schedule recurring update visits as part of a maintenance contract.
Hardware Upgrades
As payment technology and business requirements evolve, your POS system may need hardware upgrades without complete replacement. We provide installation and configuration of upgraded components compatible with your existing system.
Common upgrades include faster thermal printers for high-volume environments, contactless payment readers to accept modern payment methods, upgraded barcode scanners supporting additional code formats, expanded memory modules for systems running slowly, and secondary display screens for customer-facing transaction information.
The upgrade process begins with assessment of your current system to verify compatibility with proposed hardware. We source components from manufacturer-approved suppliers to ensure warranty coverage is maintained where applicable.
Installation includes physical mounting, electrical connection, driver installation, system configuration, and testing to verify full functionality. You receive documentation covering new hardware specifications and any configuration changes made.
Pricing covers standard installation of compatible upgrade components. Complex installations requiring custom mounting solutions or extensive system reconfiguration may require additional charges, which we will discuss before proceeding with work.
